1 Billion Pounds of CO₂ Eliminated

Last month, our executive team gathered in Boise for our annual planning session.

Outside of identifying organizational priorities and charting the company's product roadmap, a key deliverable was to define Joule Case's 5-year vision. A vision statement focuses on tomorrow and what an organization wants to ultimately achieve. A mission statement focuses on today and what an organization does to achieve it. The best vision statements incorporate some sort of definable objective that can be measured.

Our mission is to provide portable power where you need it. So then, what would be a 5-year vision that is specific enough to help guide our internal decision-making, big enough to raise the stakes for our business, and matter enough to the people we ultimately want to serve?

In navigating these requirements with our team, we got back to our 'why'. And that's to eliminate carbon emissions. On a large scale, the elimination of these pollutants could help us turn the tide in the battle against climate change.

With that, we are committed to eliminating 1,000,000,000 pounds of CO₂ emissions by the end of 2028.

1B. 1 Billion. 1 x 10^9. That's a BIG number—especially when considering that we've only offset an estimated 1,129,199 pounds to date. But, it's an important number with a lot built into it. If we are successful at achieving this goal, we will have gained tremendous business success and have made a meaningful impact on global sustainability in the process.

To give you an idea of what the elimination of that much CO₂ would look like, here are a few equivalencies:

Over the course of 2023, we'll be rolling out a variety of initiatives aimed at supporting our own sustainability benchmarks, as well as those that help us push toward our 5-year vision.
