WHY DID YOU START A FOOD TRUCK?
Coming from 30 years of combined restaurant experience we wanted that same energy but with something of our own. We decided a food truck would be a feasible place to start!
WHAT'S ON YOUR FOOD TRUCK MENU? WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS CUISINE?
Currently we sell our house made Italian frozen dessert (Semifreddo) as well as a small selection of baguette sandwiches including our flagship sandwich the Jambon Beurre, which features a local baguette with European butter, thin sliced Jambon de Paris, and a cornichon relish.
WHAT'S THE BEST PART OF BEING A FOOD TRUCK OPERATOR?
The best part of being a food truck owner is the constant change of scenery and meeting new customers/other food truck owners. It's also a great feeling when returning customers seek a visit even though you may be in a different spot from their previous visit.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH JOULE CASE AND YOUR NEW BATTERY SYSTEM?
My experience was great and continues to be great! All questions were able to be answered thoroughly and they advised me on the best option for my needs. They also were able to help locate a local company that has experience with the batteries. This enabled a quick and easy installation process. 2023 was our first full season with the battery system and if we were to expand, Joule Case would definitely receive our business!
WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND YOUR TRUCK/MENU?
We are inspired by the recipes and flavors of Italy and France.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ANOTHER FOOD TRUCK OWNER/OPERATOR?
Don't let an event that isn't as profitable as you imaged bring you down. You will win some and you will lose some. Learn from the bad and make corrections accordingly.
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE TO USE JOULE CASE AND A BATTERY SYSTEM TO POWER YOUR OPERATION?
After speaking with Sid, Joule Case seemed to be the best option and most knowledgeable company when it came to a system designed for food trucks. Speaking with my sales representative and learning that he uses the system in his own operation was a major plus as a customer. Ultimately we decided to go with battery power because it's a green option and it would free up the cash that would otherwise be used on fuel for a generator. Also, the fact that we eliminated the loud noise of a generator is a huge plus. The customers love that!
