On May 21st, a unique opportunity presented itself when the Southern Idaho Food Truck Association hosted the inaugural Food Truck Feastival. This event was set to be the largest food truck rally ever in the state of Idaho, with 18 trucks participating. The Feastival, hosted by the Boise Hawks at Memorial Stadium, attracted over 2,700 guests. In addition to the 18 food trucks, the event also featured a beer garden and a live music stage with three bands.
The event required a power solution that could not only handle the diverse needs of the food trucks but also provide clean, quiet, and reliable power for the entire duration of the event.
To meet this challenge, an innovative power solution was deployed. A 540kWh battery trailer, affectionately known as 'Bertha', was brought in to provide power for all food trucks for the entire duration of the event. This solution ensured over 5 hours of clean, quiet, generator-free power, transforming all participating food trucks into electric food trucks.
The result was a resounding success. The guests enjoyed a seamless experience, free from the noise and fumes of traditional generators. This event may have been the largest food truck rally powered by batteries in the world, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of food truck power solutions.
"We routinely trip circuit breakers when getting shore power from breweries. Your power had no issues!" - Rhett Atagi, Bochi Bochi
I could hear the music! It was actually kind of eerie to have all of these trucks and no generators!
